"We need more male teachers. We need more African-Caribbean teachers. It is as simple as that. But by addressing this need we won't simply have more African-Caribbean male teachers, we will have role models and mentors, and teachers that by their very presence will raise the aspirations of the pupils they teach. Just take a look at our communities and you'll see that this is not simply a job opportunity; this is a matter of life and death.
